A temporary reunion…
Newly jobless and adrift, former investment banker Kerri Wilson travels to Virginia to see her best friend and regroup, only to run into billionaire playboy Ethan Lloyd. It’s been years since she’s snuck out of his bed after the most amazing sex of her life, and he’s so not her type–she likes them tall, dark and manageable. But he’s too hot to resist, and she succumbs to another sizzling, no-strings-attached (or so she thinks) night.
Unwilling to let her go this time, Ethan makes a simple proposition: a job, a place to stay, and an exclusive affair that will end when either of them finds someone else. But with her dark, painful past catching up to her, Kerri may have to bolt again–even though her heart is telling her to stay. And Ethan’s not giving her up without fighting to make their “temporary” arrangement something far more permanent…
Reunited in Love was about Ethan and Kerri who had a one night stand several years before and was set up to meet later by her best friend Natalie. Not wanting to let her go without a trace, Ethan worked his way to getting Kerri in his arms.
I like the plot of this story. I personally find Ethan charming and his ways to making Kerri belong in his arms was simply irresistible.
Kerri on the other hand, has this self preservation which was amazing. I find myself looking forward to how she will open up to something more permanent with Ethan. Of course, Ethan working to get Kerri to feel that way was were the real challenge lies.
I was just a bit disappointed by the way their past was unravelled. It was always told in snippets along the chapters that I was waiting for the big revelation to come. However, I think it would have made me feel the story more if the past was shown perhaps through a flashback instead of just being told through the characters POV. I felt like it was told without emotion when it should be the other way.
The love story between Ethan and Kerri was good. I like how Ethan wormed his way to her heart and how they work to gain each others trust.
I also liked the way the grandfather and the cousin were portrayed. On Ethan’s side, it’s his protective brother Gavin and Meredith’s stepping up to some responsibility and maturity that that I was touched.
All in all, this book from Nadia Lee was an enjoyable read for me.
Bilingual former management consultant Nadia Lee has lived in four different countries and enjoyed many adventures and excellent food around the globe. In the last eight years, she has kissed stingrays, been bitten by a shark, ridden an elephant and petted tigers.
She shares an apartment overlooking a river and palm trees in Japan with her husband and son. When she’s not writing the sexy contemporary romance series HEARTS ON THE LINE featuring hot, protective and possessive billionaire alpha heroes, she can be found digging through old Asian historical texts or planning another trip.
