The New Leaf Pledge
Promise Series, Book 4

Adya Parish has been a drifter for too long. She vows to take back control and not rely on any man to keep her. Piecing together a new life requires time spent alone or with friends—not with the sweet man, his adorable daughter and crazy dog that careen into her life.

But with one chance meeting in the park, Adya begins to find the family she has always longed for. It will take real strength of will to refuse to fall for them and continue to stand alone for the first time in her life.

My Thoughts

I love this fourth installment of The Promise series. The characters were so ordinary and flawed that made it just perfect. I think that’s the beauty of this series. For once, I’m not reading about billionaires or rockstars or other big bucks hero that romance novel usually have. It’s about someone ordinary, that you could possibly meet at your own circle. It’s the flaw in Adya’s personality that made her easier to relate with. Luke’s charming personality added with his all adoring father look made him so irresistible.

I like how Adya worked her way to pulling herself together to build a better life. I may not have went through the same path she did but I fully understand how hard it can be to make a brand new start but I’m glad she managed it. Not easily but through baby steps. I didn’t expect the way the ex react but again, I like that there was no drama when it comes to that.

Penny and Carvey did it for me. The were both so adorable I find myself looking forward to their next appearance in the book. I love Penny’s innocence and her honest desire to bring her father and Adya together.  There’s such a beauty in seeing things in the eyes of a child. And I’m guessing fate was on her side because it seem that also wants to bring Adya and Luke together. Serendipity – I guess that was what it really is between them.

I can’t wait to read about what the last book in this series has to offer.

Bonnie Dee began telling stories as a child. Whenever there was a sleepover, she was the designated ghost tale teller, guaranteed to frighten and thrill with macabre tales. She still has a story printed on yellow legal paper in second grade about a ghost, a witch and a talking cat.

Writing childish stories for her own pleasure led to majoring in English at college. Like most English majors, she dreamed of writing a novel, but didn’t have the necessary focus and follow through at that time in her life. A husband, children and work occupied the next twenty years and it was only in 2000 that she began writing again. Bonnie enjoys reading stories about people damaged by life who find healing with a like-minded soul. When she couldn’t find enough books to suit her taste, she began to write them.
